Public Relations

Press Release: During an unprecedented record-breaking Texas heatwave, the “Heat Relief Initiative” ensures all Houston public housing residents have access to air conditioning in their homes.

External & Internal Communications

On behalf of the Houston Mayor and President & CEO of the Houston Housing Authority, I wrote the Forward Letter introducing an application for a $50 million dollar Choice Neighborhood Grant to revitalize the Third Ward community.

This fact sheet provides a high-level overview of the Houston Housing Authority’s essential programs and affordable housing options.

Maintaining thorough communication about the Houston Housing Authority’s operations with the Mayor of Houston is paramount to the collaboration of intergovernmental offices. I wrote and co-designed this agency operation report presented to Houston Mayor Sylvester Turner to share program implementation updates that affect thousands of low-income families who live in the city.

As head of the Communications Department at the Houston Housing Authority, I spearheaded the creation of the agency’s internal newsletter, with an emphasis on internal engagement and client/employee success stories. I was the sole designer and writer of the monthly publication that reaches 200+ staff members and the Board of Directors.

Digital Storytelling

So many Americans are struggling to afford housing. This promotional video showcases the Houston Housing Authority programs and services that can help families afford rent or get homeownership assistance.
More than 400 people from across Houston came to the 39th annual National Night Out Block Party. Each hug, smile, and laughter showed what it looks like to support community building and promote safe activities for the whole family.
Families got free backpacks filled with school supplies, hygiene kits, and toys to start the school year off with a headstart. So many organizations pooled resources to make sure hundreds of families had what they needed to feel confident and prepared on the first day of school.

One year after the Mattoon High School shooting these students are doing something extraordinary to show their strength and resilience.
Ron Thomas isn’t a garbage man, but he picks up trash every day in this town. He doesn’t get paid for it, saying there’s more to it than money. Why does this man spend so much time collecting the litter on the streets? You’ll find out why it’s worth his time.
A national campaign sends an abrupt and impactful message about a common deadly mistake many drivers make and how to stop it from happening to you. This mother shares her testimony about the last time she heard her son’s voice and why she’s reminded of it every time she hears a train pass by.
